ONU HealthWise vaccination events delayed

Weather-related shipment delays

Due to weather-related delays in COVID-19 vaccine shipments, all Ohio Northern University's HealthWise Mobile Clinic vaccination events that were scheduled for schools in Hardin County this week have been rescheduled for next week.

This new schedule could also be impacted by more inclement weather that is predicted, but for now, here is what we have planned:

• Ridgemont Local School District, Mount Victory
Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1:30-3:30 p.m.

• Upper Scioto Valley School District, McGuffey
Thursday, Feb. 25, 7-9 a.m.

• Ada Exempted Village Schools
Friday, Feb. 26, 7-10 a.m.

Liberty Township accepting bids for cemetery mowing

The Trustees of Liberty Township will accept bids for the mowing and trimming of the five outside cemeteries for 2021 (does not include Woodlawn).

Specifications are available upon request by calling Tim Dearth at 419-233-2593.

Bids should include month to month amount and must include proof of insurance declaration page.

The trustees reserve the right to refuse any and all bids. Sealed bids can be mailed to: PO Box 327, Ada, OH45810 or dropped off out at Woodlawn Cemetery or emailed to [email protected] by April 2, 2021.

Riverdale student is a $1,000. scholarship winner

David Borkosky, a Riverdale High School student, helped save lives by recently hosting an American Red Cross blood drive and earned a $1,000 scholarship as a result of his lifesaving efforts.

As part of the Red Cross Leaders Save Lives winter program, the Riverdale High School student hosted a blood drive at Mount Blanchard United Methodist Church on Dec. 23, which collected 40 blood donations.

As a result, David was entered in a drawing to win a scholarship and was chosen as a winner. He was also awarded a gift card.

ONU's Buderer OAC men's track athlete of the week

Junior Andrew Buderer (Oak Harbor) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 8-14.

Buderer won the pole vault to help the Polar Bears (15-3) to a second place finish at the OAC Elite Meet on Sunday at Otterbein and Capital.

He won the pole vault by clearing 4.70 meters to remain undefeated on the season with victories in all four meets this winter.

The Polar Bears will return to action on Sunday with a tri-meet at Capital with Wilmington.

Grief is a response to any loss and is a human experience we all have in common. However, grief is often unrecognized as part of the human experience. Grief is an individual and unique journey that should be intentional in order to heal. Individuals respond differently to loss depending on relationship dynamics, circumstances surrounding the passing, support systems, presence of illness, cultural beliefs, religion and past experiences.
