All-you-can-eat pancakes & sausage Saturday AM; and a visit from the Easter Bunny

Heather Cox served lots of applesauce at the annual Kiwanis Club all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage day last year at the Ada School cafeteria. Plenty of good food will be prepared again this year for the service club's big fundraiser at the school on Saturday.

AND

The Easter Bunny will be there! Bet you didn't know bunnies liked pancakes and sausage. Yup, bunnies do.

The Easter Bunny will be there from 8 to 11 a.m. Afraid of white rabbits? Go between 7 to 8 a.m. or from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. when serving stops.

Six-week spring wellness change starts soon

  The 2016 Spring Wellness Challenge is a free six-week on-line email challenge designed to help participants improve their health by encouraging physical activity, enjoying healthy foods, and practicing sound fitness suggestions.

Persons interested in enrolling contact OSU Extension Educator in Hardin County, Jami Dellifield, [email protected] or 419-674-2297.

You’ll be enrolled and begin receiving e-communications starting the middle of April. The Challenge lasts from April 11 to May 22.

Two Ada seniors recognized at the state level for their art work

Two Ada High School seniors, Alexandra Boyadzhiev and Ben Bowers were recognized this spring for their artistic abilities. Boyadzhiev has two art pieces accepted for inclusion among 300 selected works in this year’s Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition. This year 11,500 pieces were entered in the competition.

Her pieces include:
* Sculpture titled “Noah’s Mistake”
• Ceramics piece titled “Tea Set”

Bowers had one piece accepted for display in a “Cameo Display” in the exhibition. His work will be on display in the governor’s office and the Ohio Department of Education. This exhibit is not open to the public.

Women L.E.A.D. social media workshop at ONU March 30

Alisa Agozzino, assistant professor of public relations at Ohio Northern University, is the next speaker in the 2016 Women L.E.A.D. Speaker Series.

She will present "How to Optimize your Social Media Presence," during a ONU Dicke Forum, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 30.

Dr. Agozzino's main research lies in social media tools within the public relations field.

Have a village tax question? Help is here on Saturday

Central Collection Agency (CCA), administrator of Ada's village income tax, will have representatives in Ada on Saturday for persons who have questions about completing their village tax forms.

CCA representatives will be at The Depot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help persons with the village taxes.

Earlier this year the village announced through The Village Voice:

"If taxpayers have filed municipal taxes in years past, you are may be accustomed to receiving a tax package, including tax forms, from CCA each January.

Ada CIC okays 2016 budget

Ada's Community Improvement Corp (CIC) approved a 2016 budget on March 16.

Its savings account has a 2015 carryover and 2016 projected balance of $8,260. Its economic development fund has a 2015 carryover and 2016 projected balance of $3,440. Its water resource plan has a 2015 carryover of $25,594 and 2016 projected revenue of $10,000 with a 2016 projected balance of $35,594.

Its general fund has a 2015 carryover of $1,206. Projected dues for 2016 are at $375 with a projected 2016 balance of $1,581. Anticipated expenses total $1,406.

Committee budgets total $100 each for executive board, industrial and commercial. The community fund budget is $436.
