Mums the word on the Ohio Northern University campus this summer.

Darwin Hauenstein, 100, had local connections

Darwin Wilmot Hauenstein, 100, formerly of Allen County died March 25, 2013, at his daughter's home in Descanso, Calif.

He was born in Allen County, Jackson Township, on Dec. 20, 1912, to Lewis C. and Jennie Mae (Stober) Hauenstein.

ReStore providing summer lunches for Ada youths June 17-July 31

Hey, kids! Let's eat!

Now that school's out for the summer Ada's ReStore Community Center, 210 N. Main St., invites all Ada area youth under 18 to participate in "Picnic in the Park," this summer.

The lunches offered are part of the Ohio Summer Food Service Program.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a USDA program offered through the Ohio Department of Education that provides nutritious meals and snacks in sites that meet eligibility requirements.

The program has no eligiblity requirements and no registration requirements.

Alison Steinbrunner named Capital One Academic All-District

Senior Alison Steinbrunner has been named Capital One Academic All-District 7 for Women's Track & Field/Cross Country, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

This is the third consecutive year the pharmacy major has received this honor.

She will now move on to the national ballot, with first, second and third team All-Americans being selected in June.

Steinbrunner concluded her career with another brilliant season.

In cross country, she won her fourth straight OAC championship and second straight regional title.
