Ada's latest news

The Ada VFW will sponsor a car and bike show on Saturday, July 18, at the post located one mile north of Ada on State Route 235.

The event is free and open to the public.

Registration is from 2 to 5 p.m., judging 5 to 7 p.m., awards at 8 p.m.

Karaoke will begin at 8 pm. Food and beverages will be available throughout the day.

Liberty Baptist Church, 2955 County Road 20, Ada, will hold its Vacation Bible School Monday through Friday, July 6-10, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

This year's theme is "Heavenly Hospital - providing care that changes lives forever." For more VBS details call 567-204-2441.

The VBS features Dr. Moody and Thumper for a fun-filled week to see how God's word changes lives forever.

 

 

Senator Cliff Hite (R), District 1, will be reading superhero themed stories to the kids at the Ada Public Library, Monday, June 15th at 1p.m.

Esther J. Davis, 96, died on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 1:58 PM at Hardin Hills Health Center, Kenton.

She was born in in Columbus, Ohio, to Edward J. and Virgie Lee (Clark) Tobey who preceded her in death. In September of 1939 she married Carl H. Davis and he preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2001.

Esther was a homemaker.

She is survived by a brother-in-law, Kenneth Davis of Holland, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Helen Curry and Pearl Tressie and two brothers-in-law: Harold and Wilford Davis.

As of 5:45 p.m. The Cadet performance at ONU is still on for an 8 p.m. performance at the ONU football stadium.

David Dellifield told the Icon that the event will be at the stadium, there will be carts for those who have difficulty walking from Wander Field and Fraternity Circle.
