The Ada community is coming together this summer to support one of its younger residents – Amelia Griffin. She is the daughter of Beau and Christina Griffin. Her brothers are Jude, 7, and Willie, 3.

Four-year-old Amelia was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She has a tumor next to her spine and metastasized to her spine, according to information posted on her Facebook “Amelia Griffin Never Surrender Run.”

Tests have shown that her cancer has spread to several spots on her spine and pelvic region and below.

On June 8 Amelia began aggressive chemo.

Violet Ruth Moser, 95 died June 17, 2015, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. 

She was born April 2, 1920, in Pandora to the late Walter and Margaret (Naas) Basinger. On May 6, 1941 she married Wayne Moser who preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2006.

She graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bluffton.  

Survivors include a daughter Joan (William) Crider of Swanton; a son Donald Moser of Ada;  four grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Gary Hall of the Liberty Township Trustees reminds area resident that the recent rains have caused Woodlawn Cemetery to be under water at times.

"A lot of corn stalks are laying on the grass. Until the ground dries we are unable to clean up the cemetery," he said. "In the meantime, we will do our best to get it cleaned up. Thanks for your patience."

 

Ohio Northern University will host its inaugural Vault on The Tundra on Saturday, Aug. 8, according to Steve Johnson, Ohio Northern University assistant coach track & field.

"This is a pole vault competition for high school and collegiate/open vaulters from all over the midwest," he said.
