Sept. 23-27 is "see tracks, think train" week

This week the State of Ohio is reminding everyone to practice safety around all rail crossings. In 2023, there were 77 train-vehicle collisions at public railroad crossings in Ohio, including 5 fatalities. More information on rail crossing safety is HERE.

Ada Church of Christ Disciples to host musical groups

Two special musical performances are scheduled at the Ada Church of Christ Disciples, 316 S. Main St.

  • A Gospel Hymn Sing will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28.
  • Pearly Gates will perform at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 27.

The Hymn sing will include Heart Song, One Voice, Dee Runion, Ken Ziegler, Susan Wildman, Stan Kline, All 4 Him, Miss Amanda, Jake Reel, Louise and Russ McMillian, Ernie Pagel and the Gospel Praise Gathering Choir.

Lloyd A. Miller served in the U.S. Army

Lloyd A. Miller, age 91, of Dunkirk, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Kenton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  

He was born on September 14, 1933 in Painesville, Ohio to the late Raymond and Margaret (Anspach) Miller.  On April 22, 1958 Lloyd married Ilene Salsbury and she preceded him in death on December 14, 2000.  Lloyd later married Doris J. Honecker on November 22, 2001 and she preceded him in death on February 10, 2010.

Kickin' it for Cancer fundraiser by Bulldog girls soccer, Oct. 5

6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5

The Ada High School girls soccer team is inviting the public to the Kickin it for Cancer soccer game against Kenton on Saturday, October 5.

The team plans on having events that night to help raise funds for Hardin County Not By Choice Outreach. The Kenton Girls Soccer team is partnering with the Bulldgos for this event: "We invite cancer survivors or those battling cancer to come on out as we will recognize your fight at halftime of the game.

Art & Design Faculty exhibit through October 4

ONU's Elzay Gallery of Art will host an Art & Design Faculty exhibit Sept. 23 - Oct. 4. Featured artists are Luke Sheets, Melissa Eddings Mancuso, Brit Rowe, Emily Jay and Andrew Steingass. Admission is free and open to all. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday while class is in session.
