Ada Ohio Properties Ltd. cuts ribbon on first project - and it's now under contract

Earlier this week members of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated new member Ada Ohio Properties Ltd., a local family-owned real estate development company, with a ribbon cutting ceremony onsite at a recently completed rehab project located at 532 Grand Ave. across from Ada Schools.

Those in attendance toured the newly renovated single-family home, which had been in foreclosure and vacant for nearly a year, becoming an eyesore in the neighborhood, prior to Ada Ohio Properties’ acquiring it in November 2013.

Cover your ears and read the plaque

The historic Ada siren is now at rest in the Ada depot area. Recently a plaque was placed above the siren. It provides some interesting history of Ada's loudest noise-maker. Here's the wording on the plaque: Federal Signal Model B Modified Duo Code Siren. Purchased by the Village of Ada in the spring of 1927. The siren was originally located on the roof of the Town Hall and was later moved to the top of the Ada Municipal Building in 1937.

Welcome to Ada’s A-B-C Summer Contest.

Each week in June and ending in the first week of July, The Icon will post two photos revealing one letter (or number) taken from Main Street Ada buildings and structures. All photos were taken in May by the Icon’s official contest photographer, Bailey Bowers. The photos cover Main from College Avenue on the south to Highland Avenue on the north.

We invite Icon viewers to keep track of the letters by identifying each letter’s location. An entry form is attached to this story for viewers to keep up to date in the contest.
