Smart Bulldogs: AHS athletes excel on the field and in the classroom

Many Ada High School athletes excel on the sports field and in the classroom.

Jim Raabe, Northwest Conference commissioner, has released the list of NWC scholar athletes for the fall season.

Scholar athletes are determined as follows:
•  Must be a letter winner in their sport.
•  Gold level -- GPA of 3.5 or higher during the season of their sport.
•  Silver level -- GPA of 3.0 to 3.49 during the season of their sport.

Ada's list is below. In addition, an entire NWC list in attached.

Underware tree - that's right

There's lots of Christmas trees in Ada this year. You'll find this one at Community Health Professionals. It is a collection point for hats, mittens, socks and underware. These are donated to children in need in Hardin and Allen Counties. Donations are accepted until Dec. 31.

It's the Ada High School Future Farmers of America from the 1993-94 school year.

University public relations program re-accredited for CEPR designation from the PRSA

The Ohio Northern University public relations program has been re-accredited for Certified for Education in Public Relations (CEPR) designation from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

PRSA recognized Ohio Northern’s accomplishment at the PRSA 2015 International Conference in Atlanta on Nov. 7. Dr. Alisa Agozzino, APR, assistant professor of public relations, accepted on behalf of ONU.

Community Health Professionals recognized by Secretary of State for 40th anniversary

Community Health Professionals received a commendation from Jon Husted, Ohio Secretary of State, on CHP’s 40th anniversary.

The presentation was made following the Nov. 18 Ada Area Chamber of Commerce meeting. Brian Bauman, regional liaison to Secretary of State Husted, made the presentation. Receiving it was Brent Tow, president and CEO of Community Health Professionals.

Community Health Professionals was established in Van Wert n 1975. Today, in addition to Van Wert and Ada, it services clients in Archbold, Bryan, Defiance, Paulding, Delphos, Lima, Wapakoneta and Celina.
