ReStore's Thanksgiving meal could use your helping hand

ReStore Community Center will hold its annual Thanksgiving meal on Tuesday, Nov. 26, and it could use some volunteers and donations.

Donations of food, drinks, and paper products are needed. Volunteers are needed to prepare food, set up and tear down.  Click on the link below to see a full listing of what is needed to make this a successful event.

A conversation with Kelsey Zimmerly, Ada's homecoming queen

Because our most recent interview was with Colton Hall, Ada's homecoming king, we thought it would be great to talk with the homecoming queen. We met up with Kelsey Zimmerly during lunch. She was with several friends who claim they sit at the same table every day for lunch. Here’s a portion of our conversation.

What classes are you taking this year?
Show choir, Psychology, study hall, College Prep English, office worker, Algebra III, Personal Finance and Photography.

What’s your favorite subject?
English. I like to write.

Santa in triplicate

Santa arrived at New Leaf Garden Center, State Route 235, eariler this week. (Two of these guys might be his brothers.) New Leaf celebrates its Christmas open house from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15. Click here for more details.

New Leaf Christmas open house Saturday 9-5

New Leaf Garden Center, 0395 State Route 235, Ada, will hold its Christmas open house from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16.

Open house specials include drawings for $25 gift certificates.

A Christmas decorating demonstration takes place at the Ada store from 10 a.m. to noon. Then, it is repeated at the Kenton store from 1 to 3 p.m.

During the open house, shoppers will find:

• Country and rustic decorations
• Snowmen
• Santas
• Angels
• Artificial trees
• Chocolate cluster candy
• Greenery
• Cemetery saddles and wreaths
• Plus, a beautifully decorated store for Christmas.

 

Eyes on Main reminds patients to use Flex Spending Account before year end

Eyes on Main, 107 S. Main St., Ada, reminds its patients to use their Flex Spending Account before year end. The business also announces that it is accepting new patients and most insurances.

Eyes on Main has a new look outside as a result of renovations to the office front.

Spectacular! - the show you've waited all year for coming to Freed Center

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the 19th annual Holiday Spectacular from Thursday, Nov. 21, to Saturday, Nov. 23, at 7:30 p.m. There will be a matinee performance on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m.

In addition, there will be performances at the Civic and Convention Center in Lima, Ohio, on Friday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m.         

The show is underwritten in part by the DeBow and Catherine Freed Endowment for the Arts and Kewpee Hamburger.
