Ada school geographic bee put on hold for now

Winter weather is playing havoc with lots of last-week-of-school programs. One of those events put on hold is the Ada School Geography Bee.

According to Suzanne Hardesty, gifted coordinator/intervention specialist for Ada Schools, the Bee was planned for Dec. 17, but, it was postponed.

Hardesty said, "The National Geographic Society sponsors this bee. Ada's winner takes a timed paper-pencil test and the winners of that test continue to the Ohio Geography Bee.

Medals go to the first, second, and third place studnets and are sponsored by Ada Academic Boosters.

The grade-level champions and alternates who have qualified for the event follow:

It’s Sunday in Ada, Ohio. The typical church scene unfolds with gathering people and a sense of waiting for the Christmas celebrations to begin, waiting a bit longer for the adornments of poinsettias and candelabra, waiting for the greens and nativity set, and waiting for all the special touches that come once a year.
