It's Farmers and Merchants Picnic weekend in Ada! - Here's the schedule

This weekend marks the 99th annual Farmers and Merchants Picnic in Ada. The Ada Farmers and Merchants Picnic Association sponsor the Friday and Saturday, Aug. 10-11 event.

All events are held in the Park District of Liberty Township (formerly War Memorial Park).

The schedule follows:
Friday
5:30 p.m. – Sign ups –golf cart pull
6 p.m. – Golf cart pull begins
7 p.m. - Food on grounds
7 p.m. – 11 p.m. First Due Band

ONU football team picked to finished fourth in OAC

Ohio Northern was selected to finish fourth in both the coaches and media polls at the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference Football Media Day Wednesday afternoon at the Hilton Double Tree Hotel.

The Polar Bears received 234 votes from 31 media members in attendance to finish fourth in the media poll and received 54 points in the coaches poll.

Coaches could not vote for their own team in their poll.

Mount Union was voted atop both each poll, receiving 81 points and nine first place votes in the coaches poll and 309 points and 30 first place votes in the media poll.

It's the mother of all garage sales. Lincoln Highway's Main Street America Buy-Way Yard Sale is underway Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 9-10-11.

J. Christopher Hubbell died in London, England

 

J. Christopher Hubbell, age 48 died May 31, 2012 in London, England.
He was born February 1, 1964 in Lima, Ohio to John Frederick and Katherine Anne (McBride) Hubbell. His mother predeceased him in death. He is survived by his parents Fred and Sharon Hubbell of Alger, Ohio.

He was employed as a Senior Presentation Specialist for Williams Lea in Columbus and  spent his free time creating the comic strip “In the Weeds.”
