Gene Autry Days comes to Hardin County Fairgrounds June 22-23

Now in its 20th year, Gene Autry Days take place Saturday and Sunday, June 22 and 23, at the Hardin County Fairgrounds, Kenton.

Non-stop entertainment will be provided throughout the two days. The schedule includes: Les Gilliam; Call of the West, with Jeanne Cahill and Jerome Campbell; John Buttram; Paul Belanger; Miss Devon & the Outlaw, Devon Dawson and Outlaw Jessie Del; and Kristyn Harris.

ReStore ice cream social June 26

ReStore Community Center's annual ice cream social is from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, at the Center, 210 N. Main St., Ada.

The cost of the meal is $6 for adults and $4 for youth 10 and under. The menu includes shredded chicken or barbecued beef sandwiches. Side dishes includes chips, beverage and brownies.

You may make your own sundae, and it features Diestch's Ice Cream.

The event is sponsored by United Methodist Women, Ada First United Methodist Church.

Prasher named Ohio Northern University’s director of alumni relations

Sarah N. Prasher has been named Ohio Northern University’s director of alumni relations, effective June 1. Prasher, who has served as associate director of alumni relations since 2010, replaces Ann Donnelly Hamilton, who has been appointed executive assistant to the president.

j“I feel very honored about my new position, and I am excited about continuing my relationships with the outstanding ONU alumni and friends.” Prasher said. “I would like to thank Ann Donnelly Hamilton for all of her support and hope to maintain the high standard she has set for this office."

Memorial dinner and benefit ride Saturday at Ada VFW

A memorial dinner and benefit ride with proceeds honoring John Romick is planned on Saturday, June 15, at the Ada VFW, 2417 State Route 235.

The event includes games beginning at noon, a 50/50 raffle and door prizes. For each non-perishable food item donated persons receive one free 50/50 ticket.

A chicken dinner is also planned with serving starting at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 each. 

Donations to the dinner and benefit ride are $20 per person or $30 per couple. Registration takes place at the Ada VFW at 8 a.m. The ride begins at 9 a.m. Promoters of the event state that it is a non-alcoholic benefit.

 

The good times will roll Friday at the Depot

Music on Main is back!

The Buy Ada First committee has an evening of family entertainment planned in downtown Ada from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 14.

Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and spend time with friends and neighhbors in The Depot parking lot on Main Street Ada. Music will be provided by WONB 94.9 FM. Music will include '50s through today.

The Ada Rotary Club will hold a chicken barbecue dinner fundraiser at Hays Insurance on Friday, in conjunction with the event. Music on Main participants may purchase a dinner and eat it in The Depot parking lot if they wish.
