Wilson and ONU host VIP flag football clinic

The Wilson Football Factory grand opening brought college, pro and flag football VIPs to Ada last week. They in turn brought middle school boys from the Glenville neighborhood in Cleveland to participated in a flag football clinic at Dial-Roberson Stadium at Ohio Northern University.

Focus on sober driving this holiday weekend

The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be highly visible and cracking down on impaired drivers during the Fourth of July holiday reporting period, which begins at midnight on Wednesday, July 3 and will run through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 7.

Jumbo Jr. Farmers 4-H report for July 2024

The sixth meeting of the Jumbo Jr. Farmers was held on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. There were 18 members present, 3 advisors, and 10 parents or guests in attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Lindsey Winings and the 4-H Pledge was led by Braylin Kabua.

SR 309 to close for culvert repair beginning July 8

State Route 309 between County Road 15 (Allen County line) and State Route 235 will close Monday, July 8 for approximately 40 days to replace five culverts, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Autism rock-painting event July 13

The Autism Life Center will host its sixth annual Autism "Rocks!" event Saturday, July 13, from 1-3 p.m. at the Ottawa Metro Park in the Wyandot Shelter house in Lima on Ada Road.

Lt. Governor Husted to join celebration of Wilson factory investment

Lt. Governor Jon Husted will be the distinguished guest speaker at a July 8 community ribbon-cutting event at the Wilson Football Factory hosted by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce and Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance.

Gator boys edged by Wapak in makeup swim meet

ADA __ The Ada Gators summer swim team hosted its final West Ohio Aquatic League meet of the regular season with a makeup vs. Wapakoneta on Monday, July 1, at the municipal pool.

The visiting Waves edged the Gator boys by a score of 146-143 in their dual meet. Meanwhile, the Wapak females defeated the Gator girls, 260-115.

Wapakoneta won the combined boys/girls team meet, 406-258. 

The Gator boys fell to 1-6 with the loss, while the Ada girls are 0-7 in dual meets.

Gator brothers Lincoln Harriger (boys 13-14) and Landry Harriger (11-12) each touched first in five races.

Wilson Football Factory celebrates grand opening, extended NFL agreement

Ada has been looking forward to the opening of the new Wilson Football Factory for some 18 months. The $15M project encompasses a larger, climate controlled, modernized facility and the opportunity to take factory tours and shop for Wilson Sporting Goods products.
