Detour on SR 235 between I-75 and US 30

State Route 235 bridge maintenance between Township Road 27 and Township Road 28 will close the road on Monday, Aug. 5, for approximately five days.

The detour is I-75 to SR 696 to U.S. 30, back to SR 235 (see attached map).

The Village of Ada invites those with meetings or small gathering to rent the Historical Ada Depot at 9 Central Ave. The building is the historic Ada Pennsylvania Station building, built in 1887.

The depot can accommodate up to 25 people. Rental fee is $100.00 and a refundable security deposit of $50.00 is due at the time of reservation. For more information interested individuals or groups should visit https://www.adaoh.org/docs-form/depot-rental-form or call 419-634-4045.

Rules and Regulations for Rental 

To encourage public use and appreciation by individuals, organizations, and groups, the following rules and regulations have been established by the Ada Village Council. These rules and regulations must be followed for any rental of the Depot.

The City of Kenton has requested that the downtown area be avoided while multiple fire departments fight a 3-alarm fire on the morning on Wednesday, July 31.

At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2025 the Waterworth consulting firm will give a short presentation on Village of Ada utility funds, current rates, future capital improvement and necessary funding to maintain compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency.

Sharon Kay Wells, age 75, of Ada, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at OhioHealth-Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.

The Ohio Department of Development and Area Agency on Aging 3 are once again offering assistance to help Ohio’s families stay cool during the hot summer months.

From July 1 through Sept. 30, income-eligible Ohioans can receive assistance in paying their electric bill, purchasing an air conditioner or fan, or making repairs to their central air conditioning unit through the Ohio Department of Development’s Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program.

The Summer Crisis Program assists low-income households or those that have a disconnection notice, have been shut off, are trying to establish new service on their electric bill, require air conditioning, or those with an elderly household member (60 years or older) who can provide physician documentation that cooling assistance is needed for their health. Qualifying medical conditions can include lung disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, asthma, and others.

Ada Exempted Village Schools has announced its 2024-2025 program year policy for students unable to pay the full price of meals or milk served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast, After School Care Snack or Special Milk Programs. 

Vicky Lynn Shadley (nee Wibright), age 65, of Horicon, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the Center for Advanced Care at Froedtert Hospital.

Soroptimist of Kenton Hardin County will be holding their first Mad Hatter High Tea Party on Sunday, August 11 to spread community awareness and raise money to help women and girls in Hardin County. 

Attendees will enjoy finger sandwiches, petit fours, scones, hot and cold tea and a lemonade bar.
