Ada Gators return to action this summer

Swim team sign-up April 27 and April 30

Following a summer with no swim team, the Ada Gators swim team is back!

A sign-up for youth between the ages of 5 and 18 to be part of this summer’s Ada swim team takes place on Tuesday, April 27, and Friday, April 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church.

The cost for the first swimmer in each family is $60, for the second $55, and for the third family member, $50. Checks may be made out to Ada Summer Swim Team.

The fee includes one program ad per family to be provided in the championship heat sheet.

A representative from Poco Loco will be present on April 27 to check sizes and take orders for swim suits.

Bulldog softball, baseball and track teams in action

Ada goes 1-1 vs. McComb • Boys and girls 2nd in quad meet

By Cort Reynolds
McCOMB - Visiting Ada whipped McComb 9-3 in non-league softball action Tuesday on an unseasonably warm evening.

Ada improved to 2-1 this season with the convincing win, while the Lady Panthers dropped to 1-5 with the defeat.

Senior Leona Dalton pitched a complete game and socked a home run, her third of the season, to lead the Lady Bulldogs to victory. She also drove in three runs.

"We did what we needed to do by putting the ball in play and reducing our errors to one," said Ada head coach Rebecca Dicke. "Dalton threw a wonderful game with 11 strikeouts and no walks."

So, you think you know Ada. It's a church, of course, but, which church? Answer below.

It's gross game Tuesday!

Natalie Walton of the public library shares all the details

You’ve probably not heard of “Gross Game Tuesday.”

But, you have now and it a game to be played in pairs with your family, friends or anyone you can coax into playing.

Natalie Waldon of the Ada Public Library likes these games so much that she is sharing them twice a month in an instructional library Facebook video.

She says that all you need to play this game is whipped cream (or shaving cream) and cheese puffs.

Once the equipment is gathered coat your partner’s face with your topping of choice (see photo). Now the fun begins.

Toss cheese puffs at your partner’s face. The face with the most cheese puffs wins.
