Let it snow

Here's how Ada Icon viewers will remember February's 9.5 inches of snow

More photos tomorrow -
The past few weeks haven’t been much fun as temperatures stayed below freezing for two weeks in tandem with the  heavy snowfall.

Despite that, Icon viewers answered the call for snow photos last week. We received nearly 20 photos and every one of them has a story to tell.

When 9.5 inches of snow covers the ground what else is there to do expect go outside and play – if you are a dog.

Or, you can take photos of the snow from inside your house or outside, especially after you’ve successfully cleared your drive way.

ONU swimmer receives OAC honors

Sophomore Calob Cope (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for the week of Feb. 15-21.

On Friday, he won the 500 free in 4:57.51 and was second in the 400 I.M. in 4:20.69 at Mount Union.

Cope swept the 1650 free (17:04.26) and the 500 free (4:57.32) at John Carroll on Saturday.

The Polar Bears will wrap up their abbreviated 2021 season March 25-27 with the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Conservation and Tillage conference virtual this spring

This conference is traditionally held at Ohio Northern University

This spring's Conservation Tillage and Technology Conference traditionally held on the Ohio Northern University campus is virtual this year.

Four days of topic related programming will be provided March 9-12, (Tuesday-Friday). There is still time to register. Each day will start at 8 a.m. and will have five hours of programming, ending about 2 p.m.

That adds up to 20 hours of presentations on current topics important for farmers, crop consultants and educators.

Because the program is virtual and therefore travel is not an issue, the planning committee has put together a list of national experts from universities, agencies, industry professionals and others.

ADA - Visiting Lima Temple Christian finished with a 12-4 flurry to nip Ada 43-42 in a dramstic end to the boys basketball regular season finale Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs had three shots to win the non-conference battle in the final seconds. A driving shot rimmed off, as did a close tip-in try. LTC then batted the rebound out toward midcourt as the clock ticked down.

Senior Micah Cook made a lunging backward save to classmate Trent Ennis for a last-gasp shot, but his 38-footer fell short at the buzzer.
