Lloyd Conley was retired from Wilson Sporting Goods

 Loyd E. Conley, 64, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at OhioHealth Marion General Hospital, Marion.

He was born on Feb. 19, 1956 in Ada, to the late LT and Martha Fern (Elwood) Conley.  On July 19, 1975, Loyd married Debra C. Morrison and she survives in McGuffey.

Loyd retired from Wilson Sporting Goods Co. of Ada. He was a member of the McGuffey Church of Christ. Loyd drove the squad for the U.S.V. EMS and was a volunteer on the McGuffey Fire Department. He enjoyed building derby cars and going to car shows.

McCartney III is the 18th solo album by former Beatle Paul McCartney. The album was released in December 2020. The genius songwriter is the most successful albums act in U.K. recorded music history. 

The artist has 22 number 1 records with The Beatles, Wings, and other solo efforts. McCartney III is on pace to add to that tally. It is expected to reach number one in the U.K. and the top three on the U.S. charts.

Amelia Alexander Ada High School sophomore, is the Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative Ada January student of the month.

Amelia is active in several school organizations including:

She is the daughter of Robert and Shelleigh Alexander.

The Inn at ONU invites you to embrace your inner artist at the start of a new year, by allowing your creativity to soar.

Here’s how:
Join the Inn’s January PaintINN on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 6 p.m.

Guests may arrive at 5:30 p.m. for an early start. This month’s art project is painting a winter barn on canvas and is led by Marilyn Reed, professional artist.

February’s Paint INN is Thursday, Feb. 18, at 6 p.m. This art project is painting spring tags on wood.

All events include supplies, instruction, a glass of wine, non-alcoholic beverages and a different plates of appetizers plus dessert.

Melissa Bischoff was a 1993 Ada HS graduate

She worked for 12 years at the Bluffton Vet Center

 Melissa R. Bischoff, 46, passed Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at 7:11 p.m. at her residence in Bluffton, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Oct. 2, 1974, in Lima, Ohio, to Steven and Theresa (Russell) Kidd.  Her father preceded her in death and her mother and step father, Theresa and Craig Crouse survive in Ada.  On July 21, 1996, Melissa married Joseph Bischoff II and he survives in Bluffton.

2020 has been a chaotic year to say the least.

The majority of us are relieved that it is coming to a close. Obviously, the problems of 2020 are not gone. The pandemic is still here, and the protests during the summer did not cure our country of racism. However, I think that things are looking hopeful. 2020 has been painful, but I think that we are headed in the right direction.

New pesticide applicator virtual training available

Hardin County OSU Extension will host a virtual new pesticide applicator training to help new pesticide applicators prepare for the Ohio Private Pesticide Applicator License scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 26, from 12:30-4:30 pm.

The class will provide instruction in CORE, grain, and cereal crops.

For further study and to prepare for the test, books can be purchased from OSU Extension Publications online and shipped to your house at your expense. Online class participants will not need to pay the in-person $30 class fee which includes books.
