You saw them on a recent Ada Public Library video visit to Gossman Farms
Posted by Fred Steiner on Monday, April 13, 2020
If you've followed the Ada Public Library Facebook you are aware that Gossman Farms have two baby ducks and three baby turkey that were in need of names.
They invited library patrons to help name the birds - a boy and girl name for the ducks and a boy and two girl games for the turkeys.
This invitation came about after the library had a chicken storytime at the farm on April 7. CLICK HERE to watch a video of the visit.
After several suggestions, the decision was to name the poultry after the spice rack.
Ada politics 101 years ago was just as interesting as it is today. Here's a photo of a political parade with the sign reading "Vote Ohio Dry on Nov. 3."
This was the Ohio ratification of federal alcohol prohibition. The election took place in November 1919. It was known as Referendum 1 as a veto referendum, where it was defeated. The measure rejected the ratification of the national prohibition amendment. The vote was later overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.
The measure was one of four qeustions relating to alcohol prohibition on the 1919 Ohio ballot.
Did you grow up in Ada, and have since moved away?
If so, we'd like to hear from you, especially since you are probably in a stay-at-home situation. Send us an email. Tell us how you are doing. And, tell us who we should send your greetings to in Ada.
When it comes to community service and pharmacy outreach, Clay Miller delivers – figuratively and literally.
Miller, a resident with the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy HealthWise program, was able to draw on his experience as a former pizza delivery driver and lead the implementation of a similar service with the ONU HealthWise Pharmacy.
Thanks to Miller’s innovation, the pharmacy now offers free prescription delivery service to anyone within a 40-mile radius of Ada. Individuals interested in this service should call 419-772-3784.
