Did you know that the 100th day of the school year is Feb. 1?

It's listed as the first event in the February-March issue of Ada Icon Hometown Happenings. If you miss it, an elementary student will certainly inform you of this important fact.

There's lots more happening in Ada in the next two months. So much, that you'll discover it takes over five pages of single-spaced type to cover everything taking place here.

Cleveland Indians Senior Vice President of Public Affairs Bob DiBiasio and Indians’ radio announcer Jim Rosenhaus will conduct a question-and-answer session from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday,  Feb. 6 in the Business College.

DiBiasio, who has been with the Indians for more than 30 years and is the brother of ONU President Dan DiBiasio, and Rosenhaus, who has been broadcasting the Indians since 2007, will discuss their respective roles with the Cleveland Indians as well as the current state of the team.

The event is free and open to the public.

Soprano Chelsie Cree of Toledo will present a vocal recital at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4 in Presser Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Cree will present a lecture recital about Dame Ethel Smyth, an English composer and member of the women’s suffrage movement.  The program will include works by Smyth, as well as composers Johannes Brahms and Richard Strauss.  Nathan Leonard will accompany Cree on piano.

Cree earned her bachelor’s degree in music performance from Ohio Northern in 2015 and a master’s degree from the University of Toledo.
