Registration underway for winter classes at Miss Vicki's Music Studio

Vicki Mills of Miss Vicki's Music Studio of Ada, announces that winter class registration is now underway.

Registration for the following classes is now underway. 

Village Voice: A reminder of what happens during snow emergencies

Village crews work around the clock through major snowfalls to keep the Village streets as safe and passable as possible. Please keep the following tips in mind:

- Crews do not wait for a snow emergency to be declared to begin clearing roads. If you are able to park your vehicles off the street, please do so. Once the public lots at the Depot and the corner of West Buckeye Avenue and North Gilbert Street are plowed, please consider using those lots.

Free candles: Get 'em while they're not hot

Gus Guthrie says he has some candles that he'd like to give away.

All you need to do to have one is to stop in to Ada Flea Market, make a purchase and walk out with a free candle.

The flea market at 111 N. Main St., is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday.

Evelyn Wright was the first woman to work at the Ada post office

Evelyn A. Wright, 92, died on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at 11:52 p.m. at her son’s residence in Lima.

She was born on July 17, 1922 in Elliston, Ky.,  to Thomas W. and Mabel (Ferril) Anderson and they preceded her in death. On Oct. 25, 1946, she married Lonnie Wright and he died on Oct. 6, 2008.

She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after working for 19 years at the Ada Post Office. Mrs. Wright was the first women to work at the Ada Post Office. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ada. She was a member of the former Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #6 of Ada and Worthy Matron in 1975 and District #26 Deputy Grand Matron in 1982.

Helen I. Lenhart was an Ada High School graduate

Helen I. Lenhart, 86, died on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at 6:40 a.m. at Willow Ridge in Bluffton, Ohio.

She was born on Jan. 18, 1928 in Lima, Ohio, to Albert C. and Kathryn E. (Hauenstien) Huber and they preceded her in death. She married on Aug. 29, 1946, Everett W. Lenhart and he died on June 8, 2004.

Mrs. Lenhart worked at Liberty National Bank from 1964 to 1975 as a teller and assisted in the loan department. She also worked at the IGA of Ada and the Charles Company Clothing of Ada. She was a member of the Ada First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the American Legion Post #185 Women’s Auxiliary of Ada. She was a 1946 graduate of Ada High School.

School now in session - here's some calendar updates

PRE-SALE TICKETS: are on sale in the high school office for Tuesday night’s Varsity boys’ basketball at Fort Jennings. Adult tickets are six dollars and student tickets are four dollars. All tickets at the door will be six dollars.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE: The meeting regarding the England and France trip for the summer of 2016 is scheduled for Jan. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Media Center. For those students who were nominated for the trip, please remind your parents about the meeting.
