$4.2B Ohio capital budget includes Ada and Hardin County funding

By Paula Pyzik Scott

On June 28, Ohio governor Mike DeWine signed House Bill 2, $4.2 billion capital budget for Fiscal Years 2025-and 2026. The bill includes $500,000 in funding for Ada War Memorial Park improvements and $500,000 in funding for an ONU Healthwise Mobile Clinic. Alger Baseball Field is receiving $40,000 for improvements.

In addition to the traditional capital budget, the One-Time Strategic Community Investment Fund (OTSCIF) is providing $700 million as an added source of funding. The fund was created in February to tap excess funding from the previous fiscal year.

House Bill 2 also includes $500,000 to help buy a second vehicle for the Ohio Northern University Healthwise Mobile Clinic. The mobile clinic brings health and wellness services to residents in the region, including those who live in underserved rural areas.
