Noah Hollon 1932-2013

Noah G. Hollon, age 81, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 9:24 AM at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.

He was born on November 12, 1932 in Wolfe County, KY to Beckham and Nelis (Rowe) Hollon, and they preceded him in death. On August 4, 1951 he married Anna Belle Hall and she preceded him in death on May 2, 2013.

Noah retired from Superior Coach, Sheller Globe Division, Lima after working for 23 years. He then became an independent truck driver until he retired. Noah attended the Ada Full Gospel Pentecostal Church of God. He played banjo (Blue Grass and Gospel) for Lilie Mae and the Dixie Gospel Aires for over 40 years. Noah first started playing with the group, Noah Hollon and the Kentucky Cut-Ups.

Surviving are two sons: Larry (Coleen) Hollon of Alger, Danny (Rhonda) Hollon of Belle Center; a daughter, Lisa (Richard) Allen of Alger; five grandchildren: Bridget, Shawna, Ashley, Matthew and Timothy; seven great grandchildren: Natasha, Nathan, Justice, Ryan, Breanna, Austin and Aiden; a great-great granddaughter, Maleah; a sister, Imogene (Clayton "Buzz") Rogers of Kenton; a half brother, Beckham "Fish" Hollon of Plymouth, IN; four half sisters: Maureen Eckert of Valparaiso, IN; Pauline Pranger, Laureen Fuller and Noreen McBride all of Knox, IN.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Hollon; two brothers: Howard Hollon and Abe Hollan; two sisters: Corine Gibson and Geneva Sheller.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Rev. Karen Rarey officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Friends may call 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
