The Ohio Northern women's soccer team scored three second half goals to defeat Baldwin Wallace by a 3-0 score in the first match at Kerscher Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears are now 5-6-1 on the season and 1-1-0 in OAC action, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 11-2-0, 2-1-0.
The first half was scoreless, with ONU owning a 7-2 advantage in shots.
ONU had a chance late in the first, when freshman Shelby Stephens fired a shot that was stopped by the Yellow Jacket goalie.
The ball kicked out and freshman Rachel Weigman fired a shot that sailed wide.
At the 58:51 mark, junior Kristina Klusek sent a ball that senior Sami Atkinson headed in to put the Polar Bears on top 1-0.
The Yellow Jackets were ready to tie the match in the 65th minute.
Heather Keller broke free and took a shot that got past sophomore goalie Emily Brodict.
But sophomore Kelsey Robinson sprinted in and knocked the ball away before it could cross the line into the net.
Kulsek then made it 2-0 in favor of ONU in the 70th minute, when she took a pass from freshman Alaura Mikesell and dribbled around the defense and shot into the back of the net.
Senior Lauren Brown put the match away when she dribbled through the defense and fired a shot over the goalkeeper to make it 3-0.
"This was a fantastic win," said head coach Mark Batman. "We have been working really hard and it is great to see it pay off. Baldwin Wallace is a tough team and I am proud and happy of the effort we gave."
Brodict (4-5-1) recorded her first career shutout, including a diving save in the closing moments to keep it intact.
Emily Tallmadge (9-2-0) made four saves for the Yellow Jackets.
ONU outshot the Yellow Jackets 14-7 and also held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Tuesday, with a road match at Otterbein a 4 pm.
