CRIDERSVILLE – The visiting Ada High School boys basketball team stymied non-league foe Perry with tough defense 49-25 on Friday, December 27 to earn their fifth consecutive victory.

The Bulldogs ran out to a 16-2 lead after the first period, and went on to sink the Commodores handily. Ada led 22-9 at halftime, and stretched the margin to 35-18 after three stanzas.

Ada also captured the fourth quarter 14-7 to win going away by 24.

The Bulldogs improved to 7-2 overall with the convincing road win. Winless Perry dropped to 0-8 after the home loss.

“We got off to a really slow start offensively,” said veteran Ada head coach Chris Sautter. “Thankfully, we guarded really well.

“Once we got a double-digit lead, we just kept methodically extending it and were able to come away with another road win,” he added.

Ada has played seven of its first nine games on the road.

Bulldog junior Zack Zimmerman fired in a game-high 24 points to nearly outscore Perry himself. He drained six triples and three deuces to sink nine field goals.

Sophomore guard Carson Conley contributed nine markers. Junior Kayleb Hickman added six points.

Freshman Amir Warner led Perry with a mere seven points.

Ada connected on 12 two-pointers and nailed eight triples. The Bulldogs converted one free throw.
Perry canned seven two-pointers and drilled three trifectas. The Commodores sank two foul shots.

Ada improved to 6-1 on the road this season with the win. The 25 points the Bulldogs surrendered was the lowest output of the season by any of their opponents. The previous low was 32 by Riverdale.

Ada travels to Marion Elgin (2-5) Saturday afternoon, Dec. 28 for game two of a boys/girls JV and varsity tripleheader. The varsity boys game is scheduled to start at approximately 3:30 p.m.
