RAWSON – The visiting Ada High School girls soccer team shut out Cory-Rawson 4-0 in their North Central Ohio Soccer Association league finale Thursday night, October 3.
The decisive win extended the Ada girls program record for wins in a single season to nine. The clean sheet was also the fifth Bulldog shutout, another program record for a season.
Senior Lexi Poling scored two goals to pace the victorious offense.
Freshmen Emily Shanks and Rose Baxter each tallied a goal. Freshmen Aliyah Kober and Maire Boulanger dished out one assist apiece.
Ada led 1-0 at the half.
In the second half, the Bulldog girls tacked on three big scores to put the game well out of reach.
The Bulldogs improved to 9-6 overall and 1-4 in NCOSA play with their first league win. Ada ended up fifth in the tough league.
Cory-Rawson fell to 3-10-1 overall and 0-5 in NCOSA action to finish last in the six-team league.
Powerhouses Liberty-Benton and Riverdale tied 1-1 Wednesday night to share the NCOSA championship at 4-0-1.
Upper Sandusky beat Van Buren 5-3 Thursday night to finish third at 3-2 in the league, while VB ended up 2-3 and in fourth place.

Freshman Emily Gibson made four saves in goal to preserve the shutout. C-R senior Becca Ludwig was credited with 11 saves in goal.
Including sectionals, the young Bulldogs have at least three matches left to reach or surpass the pre-season goal of 10 wins.
The Bulldog girls host Hardin County rival Kenton (5-8-1) Saturday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m.
Ada plays at tough Miller City (9-3-2) in the regular season finale Thursday, Oct. 10 at 5 p.m.
