MT. BLANCHARD – The visiting Ada High School volleyball team lost a tough four-setter at Blanchard Valley Conference foe Riverdale Monday evening, September 30.
The Bulldogs won the first set 26-24, but dropped the final three games 25-15, 25-14, 25-17.
Ada dropped to 9-10 overall and 2-6 in BVC play after the road defeat.
The Falcon girls improved to 7-11 overall and 3-4 in BVC action with the win.
Senior Natilyn McClain mustered a team-high 16 digs. Senior libero Jenna Bassitt hustled up 14 digs, and served one ace.
Sophomore setter Jaylin St. Laurent passed out 19 assists, came up with 11 digs and dealt one ace.
Sophomore Brooklyn Andreasen hammered eight kills and authored a career-high seven blocks.
Junior Anna Conley contributed five kills and nine digs. Sophomore Dailah Preston knocked down four kills.
Sophomore Alivia Gibson added three kills. Junior Alyssa Madison hustled up 11 digs.
The Bulldog reserves won their match, 2-0.
Ada hosts struggling Arcadia (3-17, 1-8 BVC) Wednesday, Oct. 2 on Senior Night in the final home regular season match of the campaign.
McClain, Kennedy Jones, Bassitt, injured Belah Price and Tess Griffith will be recognized before the varsity match as the team’s outgoing five seniors.
The Arcadia rematch will be Ada’s eighth contest in 11 days. The Bulldogs beat the Redskins 2-1 by taking the decisive third set 25-20 this past Saturday at the Cory-Rawson Invitational.
