Multiple injury crash on SR 309
On November 22, 2023 at 11:35 a.m., the Hardin County Central Dispatch Center received multiple 911 calls in regards to an injury crash at the intersection of Co. Rd. 15 and St Rt 309. Upon arrival deputies found 2 vehicles off the west side of Co. Rd. 15 in a private yard.
A northbound vehicle driven by Akmed Momand of Columbus had rolled once and came to rest in the yard. The vehicle contained the driver, Akmed Momand, along with the front seat passenger, Rahat-Bodi Momand. The vehicle also contained three children in the rear compartment area. All five people were transported to Lima Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
The west bound vehicle, operated by Feng Jao Al-Olimat of Ada, also came to rest in the same private yard. She was also transported to Lima Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Preliminary results of the investigation indicate that the northbound vehicle driven by Mr. Momand is at fault in the crash for failing to stop at the stop sign however the crash remains under investigation.
The Sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by Alger Fire, Ada Fire, Bath Twp Fire, Harrod Fire, Lafayette Fire, Ada EMS, USV EMS, Harrod EMS, Lafayette EMS, Multi-County Crash Investigation Team, Hardin Co S/O Drone Unit, Osborns Towing and ODOT.
