Rebecca Bash (Mt. Vernon Nazarene/Ridgemont H.S.) and Chase Fleece (Bowling Green State University/Kenton H.S.) are 2023 scholarship recipients
Rebecca Bash has been awarded the top scholarship for 2023 from the University Club II of Hardin County. Rebecca is a 2020 graduate of Ridgemont High School and is attending Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She is the daughter of Jon and Karen Bash of Mt. Victory and will graduate with a degree in Middle Childhood Education in May of 2024.
While attending college, Rebecca has been a Resident Advisor, member of the Pep Band, Student Education Advisory Council President and Class of 2024 Events Director. She has also been on the Dean's List every semester.
After graduation Rebecca hopes to find a job as a 6th or 7th grade English teacher and also receive her Master's degree to one day become a principal. Next year she is making her first international trip to Belize where a team will be working with teachers and installing a computer lab.
Chase Fleece has been awarded the second scholarship for 2023 from the University Club II of Hardin County. Chase is currently a Senior attending Bowling Green State University and is a 2019 graduate of Kenton High School. He is the son of Craig and Jennifer Fleece of Kenton. Chase will graduate with a degree in history in April of 2023.
Chase has been involved in many activities both in Hardin County and at BGSU. He is co-author of Hardin County Military Service, a volunteer at the Hardin County museums, a panelist at the American Historical Association's annual conference and the Ohio Academy of History conference. Chase has worked as a teaching assistant as an undergraduate student. He has already been accepted into the Master's of Arts program where he is doing research on the agricultural labor movements in McGuffey, Ohio during the Great Depression.
