Sean Swisher has been named the men's and women's tennis head coach at Ohio Northern.
He served as interim head coach for both sports in the fall, guiding the women to a 2-0 record and the men to a 1-1 mark.
Swisher filled the positions vacated by Mike Bonnell, who is now the women's tennis head coach at Bowling Green State.
"I am very excited to take over these two programs at Ohio Northern," Swisher said. "One was the OAC champion last year and the other was the OAC runner-up, and there are good recruits coming in. It's great to be here, and I'm looking forward to getting the season underway and seeing our men and women compete."
Swisher comes to ONU from Findlay High School, where he served as boys tennis head coach since 2012. He was also the FHS girls tennis head coach from 2011 to 2014 and from 2019 to 2022.
At FHS, Swisher led the boys tennis program to a record of 176-36 with three OTCA State Final Four berths and four appearances in the state quarterfinals. Swisher, a five-time TRAC Coach of the Year, coached six state qualifiers, and the Trojans won two TRAC championships and posted seven TRAC runner-up finishes.
As head coach of the FHS girls tennis team, Swisher posted a record of 87-48 and was named TRAC Coach of the Year in 2019. His 2021 team set school records for wins (17) and shutouts (10).
Swisher also has experience in USTA coaching, serving as an NWO District Team Assistant Coach in 2019 and as an NWO World Junior Team coach from 2020 to 2022.
A native of Findlay, Swisher graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1993 and earned his MBA from the University of Findlay in 2001.
He and his wife, Allison, have three children: Drew, Sydney and Samuel.
