Gerald L. “Chuck” Wireman, age 72, of Alger, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 10:23 PM at Kenton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, with his family by his side.
He was born on August 25, 1949, in Lima, Ohio to the late Robert B. and Mary S. (Smith) Wireman. On May 7, 1971, Chuck married Judy Ousley and she survives in Alger.
Chuck is also survived by his three children: Tammy (Neal) Corwin, Brad (Rose) Wireman, and Chad Wireman; seven grandchildren: Tiffany (Aubrey) Corwin, Josh Corwin, Josie (Ben) Garmon, Sadie Wireman, Nick Wireman, Danyelle Wireman, and Hunter Wireman; two great grandchildren: Oliver Corwin and Henry Garmon; three brothers: Jeff (Tina) Wireman of Ada, Tim (Diana) Wireman of Mt. Victory and Dennis Wireman of LaFayette; and two sisters: Patricia Morgan of Kenton and Cathy (Harold) Albert of Larue.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Debra Butler; and two brothers: Douglas and Gary (Faye) Wireman.
Chuck was a master welder and metal worker, who previously worked for Brodericks in maintenance and as a machinist and Kenton Structural as a welder fabricator. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War from 1969-1971. Chuck was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and trap. He enjoyed spending time with his family and tinkering in the garage.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger with David Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger with graveside military honors conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
