Julie Ann (Tracy) Butterfield, age 53, of Harrod, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 21, 1969, in Lima, Ohio to Larry C. and Carol (Fisher) Tracy. Her father and stepmother, Larry and Phyllis Tracy survive in Lima; and her mother and stepfather, Carol and Russell Parker survive in Lima. On February 15, 1992, Julie married Rick Butterfield and he survives in Harrod.
Julie is also survived by her two children: Luke (Lydia Smith) Butterfield of Harrod, and Katie Butterfield of Harrod; a brother, Mark (Kerri) Tracy of Lima; two stepbrothers: Tim (Shandra) Parker of Lima, and Todd (Michele) Parker of Delphos; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Bert and Rosie Butterfield of Hardin County; two brothers-in-law: Ryan (Amanda) Butterfield of Lima, and Randy (Angie) Butterfield of Hardin County; and several nieces and nephews.
Julie worked as an elementary school teacher for the Ada Exempted Village Schools for twenty-six years. She was a member of the Forest Park United Methodist Church, Lima. She graduated from Bath High School in 1987. Julie then graduated from Bluffton University in 1991 with a degree in Education and then received her master's degree in Library Science from Clarion University. Julie was an avid reader, she always looked forward to vacations at the beach and taking trips with her teacher friends. Julie always wanted to be a teacher and when she was a child was always playing schoolhouse. Julie especially enjoyed attending her children’s events and her children were her whole life.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Forest Park United Methodist Church, 315 S. Collins Avenue, Lima, Ohio 45804 with Pastor Ted Bible, and Pastor Linda Lockwood officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemeter, Lima.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ada Exempted Village Schools Library and/or Forest Park United Methodist Church, Lima.
