Four Ada cross country runners competed at the wet and chilly Northwest Conference championship meet Saturday morning, October 16, in Van Wert.
"It was a wet and cold meet, something we haven't seen this season," said Bulldog head coach Josh Klein.
Bulldog senior Riley Ferguson led the Ada boys by finishing 58th in a time of 22:02.986.
Freshman Kaleb Couch crossed the finish line 68th in 24:14.317.
"Riley and Kaleb had a good race, but we added time for the other two," said Klein.
Junior Tristen Dalton ended up 75th with a time of 31:49.
Senior Hunter Sidle of Allen East finished first in the 76-runner boys race in 17:07.661.
Columbus Grove captured the boys team title with 33 points. Lincolnview was second (58), followed by Bluffton (75), Allen East (106), Crestview (125) and Spencerville (155).

Ada, Leipsic not enough runners
Lady Bulldog sophomore Elsie Allen finished 31st in a time of 29:03.396. She was the lone Ada girls runner to compete.
Ada sophomore Jillian Hazelton was sidelined for the meet with her foot in a boot due to a sprained ankle. Klein hopes she can run in the district meet next weekend.
Bluffton freshman June Essinger won the 41-runner girls race in 21:32.086.
Lincolnview won the girls team title with 36 points. Crestview finished second with 53, followed by Bluffton (59) and Columbus Grove (65).
Ada, Spencerville, AE and Leipsic did not have the required minimum five girls runners to compile a team score.

Ada runs in the district meet at Columbus Grove Saturday, October 23. The girls run at 10 a.m., and the boys race is at 12:40 p.m.
