Remember Philip Gautier, an Ada Rotary Club exchange student from France? Philip attended Ada High School during the 2018-19 school year as a junior.
Thanks to a tip from Monty Siekerman, the Icon shares a short piano composition by Philip, discovered on YouTube in May. Viewers may watch and listen below.
For a refresher course in Philip is from Saint Sulpice sur Risle, France, in the Normandy area. We recall that he was first hosted Bill and Yam Trudeau, in charge of the Rotary in charge of the exchange program.
For three months his host family was then Ernie and Wendy Daughtery and their son, Connor. We’ve lost track of his two additional host families (Please contact the Icon, so we may add you to the host list in this story).
The YouTube video demonstrates Philip’s musical interests in this multi-talented young man.
His talents also extended to athletics. While attending Ada, Philip, participated in the boys’ track team where he advanced to the Division III regional track meet in the high jump.
He also participated in the boys 4 by 100 relay team and the long jump, finishing in first place in the long jump at the Ada Relay.
He also was a Northwest Conference scholar athlete that spring.
