ONU’s All-American Ryan Bruns signs with Aquimisa Carbajosa

Ryan Bruns has parlayed his impressive collegiate basketball career into a professional contract. The former Ohio Northern standout signed with Aquimisa Carbajosa of the Liga Espanola de Baloncesto Aficionado (EBA).

"I'm very excited to be able to continue my basketball career at the next level with Aquimisa Carbajosa," Bruns said. "This is something I never thought would be possible at the start of my college career, but throughout the years at ONU I was able to improve my game, and now have the opportunity to play at the next level. I'm very excited to be able to represent ONU at the next level."

Bruns capped his applaud-worthy career as a Polar Bear, averaging a team-high 21 points per game on 50.6 percent shooting as a senior during the 2018-19 season. He also added 8.8 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and two assists per contest.

Bruns was named a second team All-American by D3hoops.com for the second consecutive year. He also garnered first team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors for the second season in a row.

Bruns reeled in the OAC Player of the Year award as a junior. He averaged 24 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game.

Bruns chipped in 13 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per contest as a sophomore and was a second team All-OAC selection. He scored 9.4 points, pulled down 4.5 rebounds and turned away 2.5 shots per game as a freshman.

Bruns leaves Northern as the school's fourth all-time leading scorer with 1,686 points. He ranks 11th in rebounding, corralling 723 and first in school history in blocks with 250.

Bruns played a big role in the Polar Bears winning 55 games over the last four seasons, 38 of which occurred within the OAC.

Aquimisa Carbajosa is located in Carbajosa de la Sagrada, which is a municipality in the province of Salamanca. The team went 14-12 last season and won seven of their final eight games.
