A few booth spaces remain available for the McGuffey Memory Room bazaar and craft show planned in early August. Persons interested in reserving a booth should contact T.J. Carter in the village office for details at 419-757-2292.
The bazaar and craft show is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, in the McGuffey Community Building, 404 Courtright St.
The event will feature area craft vendors, plus some garage sellers will be present. In addition, there will be a bake/food sale as part of the fundraiser.
Background on the Memory Room fundraiser
The McGuffey Memory Room is supported by a group of McGuffey residents interested in the community’s history.
It contains the ordinances and council minutes starting in 1896 when McGuffey became an incorporated village.
“We have collected several item that pertain to the onion wars from the 1940s,” said Carter.
“We are working to rebuild our village up and funds generated from the August event will go toward the landscaping of the village office/post office."
“We are working toward bringing back our Marsh Day Festival and other events of the past,” said Carter.
