Ada Public Library’s adult book discussion group in May will be discussing “The Girls of Atomic City" by Denise Kiernan.
The book discussion, open to the public, is at 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, in the library. The monthly discussion group is open to new members and registration is requested.

Book synopsis
"The Girls of Atomic City" tells the unbelievable true story of young women during World War II who worked in a secret city dedicated to making fuel for the first atomic bomb—only they didn’t know that.

Denise Kiernan is an author, journalist and writer for hire. As a journalist, her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Village Voice, Saveur, Discover, Ms., and Sports Illustrated for Kids, and others. In addition to her books for adults and children, she was head writer for ABC's "Who Wants to be Millionaire" during its Emmy award-winning first season and has produced for ESPN, MSNBC and others.
