Princess Grismore 1914 - 2013

Princess Gladys Long Grismore, 98 died at 11:50 am January 8, 2013 at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. 

She was born May 2, 1914 in Lima to the late Floyd and Louise (Lauck) Long.  She also had a stepfather Omar Johnson who preceded her in death.  On August 31, 1935 she married Fred L. Grismore and he died November 29, 1981.

She was a former employee of Lima Printing and Ledger Company.  She lived all of her married life on the Grismore Farm near Pandora.  She was a member of St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora where she was an active member of St. John Ladies Aide Society and held various offices in that society.  She was also a member of the Home Builders Sunday School Class and during her lifetime participated in various activities associated with that class.

Survivors include two sons Fred (Ruth Ann) Grismore of Ada, Gerald (Karen) Grismore of Pandora; a daughter in law Carol Grismore (Mark’s wife) of Pandora; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

\A son Mark Grismore who had a fatal accident on the farm January 2, 2006; and a grandson Gerald Grismore Jr. also preceded her in death.

\Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora with Rev. Lynn Thompson officiating.  Burial will in Pandora Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 2 p.m. - 4p.m. & 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton and one hour prior to the service at the church.
