James Lee Hadley, age 70, died on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 7:31 a.m. at his residence in Ada.
He was born on August 14, 1947 in Warren, Ohio to the late Alvin Dwight and Betty Jean (Standley) Hadley. On April 29, 1967 James married Melody A. Hare and she survives in Ada. James and Melody just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in April.
James retired in 2004 after working for 38 years from Kraft Foods. He was a member of the Ada Family Center. He sang in a church choir for 47 years. James was a U.S. Army veteran who served from 1966 to 1968. He served as a Scout Master for over twenty years in Kinsman, Ohio. James never met a stranger. He loved to garden and spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Also surviving are his two sons: Matthew (Connie) Hadley of Wilmore, KY and Ray (Jennifer) Hadley of Ada; four grandchildren: Connor Hadley, Mackenzie (Lucas) Hughart, Madison Hadley and Andrew Hadley; a great granddaughter, Adeline Hughart; two brothers: John (Phyllis) Hadley of North Carolina and Allen (Judy) Hadley of Bellefontaine; and two sisters: Kathy (John) Schultheis of Utah and Lora (Gerald) Hunkus of Farmdale.
A celebration of life will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, at the First Presbyterian Church at 201 South Main Street, Ada, Ohio 45810 with Pastor Mark Bayliff officiating.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 4:00 p,m, to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ada Family Center at 4073 State Route 309, Ada, Ohio 45810.
