Bonnie A. Hoy, age 72, died on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 6:15 p.m. at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton, Ohio.
She was born on March 24, 1944 in Hardin County, Ohio to Sherman W. and Anna Belle (Hibner) Merriman who preceded her in death.
On February 27, 1965 Bonnie married Lowell L. Hoy and he died on January 14, 2014.
Bonnie was a stay at home mother with her four children, until she attended Lima Technical College to become a Registered Nurse. She went on to work at Lima Memorial, where she retired after 30 years. After retiring, she began to work for Interim Home Health. Her hobbies included sewing, Sudoku, going to the beach, shopping, camping, boating, visiting Massachusetts, and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She was an active member of the Lima First Assembly of God Church, where she enjoyed volunteering weekly and participating in JOY. She also volunteered at the Senior Citizen Center.
Also surviving are her three children: Lora "Punk" (Mark) McSeveney of Hanson, MA, Brad (Angie) Hoy of LaFayette and Sheri Pitney of Ada; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; four brothers: Philip (Juanita) Merriman of Lima, Charles (Vicki) Merriman of Colorado, Lowell (Tressa) Merriman of LaFayette and Kenneth (Patricia) Merriman of Lima; two sisters: Darlene Bell and Rita (Roy) Rogers both of Lima.
Bonnie was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia (Hoy) Vermillion.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Lima First Assembly of God Church at 1660 Findlay Road (State Route 81) Lima, Ohio 45801 with Pastor Randy Davis officiating.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Allen County Sharpshooters 4-H Club at 4300 Poinsettia Drive, Lima, Ohio 45806.
