Ohio Northern University to present ‘The Not So Newlywed Game with Bob Eubanks’

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present “The Not So Newlywed Game with Bob Eubanks” on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 7:30 p.m.

“The Not So Newlywed Game with Bob Eubanks” is a live replica of the television game that uses married couples that are either newlyweds or feel like newlyweds.

“The Newlywed Game” was one television’s most popular game television game shows, and, in 2013, TV Guide ranked it No. 10 in its list of the 60 greatest game shows ever.

Eubanks is the original host of the show, which began airing in 1966. Eubanks is one of only three individuals to promote The Beatles concerts in all three years they toured in America. He also promoted concerts by The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan.

Eubanks has produced network and syndicated game shows and variety shows for television, and he hosted some of television’s most successful daytime programs, such as “The Newlywed Game” and “Card Sharks.”

He is the only game show personality to host the same format with original programming for five decades. TV Guide named him one of the top five game show hosts of all time. He has won eights Emmys, including a lifetime achievement award, and was the last person to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the 20th century.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $10 for children. Tickets are $15 for ONU faculty and staff and $10 for ONU students.

The Freed Center box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone orders are accepted with American Express, MasterCard, VISA or Discover by calling 419-772-1900. Tickets also are available online at www.freedcenter.com
