South Johnson Street in Ada ... aka "Flag Street"
By Monty Siekerman
U.S. flags adorned 10 homes on South Johnson Street one recent Tuesday.
Although the older, two-story homes on this short stretch of road near the campus have been largely bought up for student housing, the owners of the family homes that remain show their patriotism by flying the flag on a daily basis, not just on Memorial Day, Flag Day, and the Fourth of July.
FLAG PHOTOS ARE IN THE ATTACHMENT AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY.
See the attached to view the other homes with flags on their front porches. Yes, American flags flew from flagpoles and were attached to garages, as well.
I suppose that in the past 50 years of observing the homes on South Johnson, I can safely say that today more flags grace the homes than at any time in the past. And that's a good thing.
Can you identify the addresses, know the owners?
