U.S. News & World Report gives ONU high placement

U.S. News & World Report has ranked Ohio Northern University third in Best Regional Colleges in the Midwest and No. 4 in the Midwest for Best Value. Ohio Northern was also placed at No. 6 in Washington Monthly’s Best Bachelor’s Colleges category and captured Niche.com’s No. 8 spot out of 45 Top Private Universities in Ohio.

The annual rankings examine various criteria ranging from student-to-teacher ratios to socioeconomic elevation.

Farm Science Review, September 21-23

Farm Science Review is coming up next week, September 21st – 23rd with lots of  excitement in store for farmers young and old. There will be a lot of new equipment and technology to  view as you walk around the showgrounds and of course milk shakes and delicious sandwiches from the  OSU student organizations. OSU also has some exciting areas for you to stop by and learn more about  agricultural practices being studied at OSU and view some of the latest technology in action. 

Bulldog boys soccer ties VW

The host Ada boys soccer team tied 2-2 with Van Wert in a non-league match Thursday night, September 16, at War Memorial Stadium.

The Bulldog record is now 2-3-3 after the draw. Meanwhile, VW ran its record to 0-6-1 with the tie. 

Ada (0-0-1 NWC) visits league foe Lincolnview (2-6, 1-1 NWC) Monday, Sept. 20.

 

Grove wins Bulldog spike battle

Visiting Ada lost in straight sets to Columbus Grove in Northwest Conference volleyball action Thursday evening, September 17.

The Ada girls dropped to 1-9 overall and 0-2 in the NWC with the 25-19, 25-17, 25-16 defeat.

The Grove Bulldogs improved to 3-5 and 1-1 in league play with the win. 

Purple and gold junior Courtney Sumner mustered 12 digs, hit for six kills and dealt two aces to lead Ada.

Sophomore setter Autumn Andreasen passed out 17 assists and hustled up 11 digs. Sophomore Daicy Robinson hit four kills, served two aces and made one block.

Senior Lexi White mustered 10 digs. Freshman Lily Baumgartner drilled three kills.

Ada golfers beat Spartans

The Ada golf team defeated Lima Senior convincingly in a dual match Thursday evening, September 16, at Tamarac Golf Course.

The Bulldogs easily defeated the Spartans, 209-258.

Senior southpaw Dexter Woods led Ada with a round of 49. Junior Geddes Klingler shot 51, while sophomore Jack Baumgartner contributed a score of 54. 

Senior Drew Rush carded a 55 to round out the Bulldog scorers.

Freshman Wyatt Ferguson registered a season-low score of 60. Senior Karon Wilkerson added a round of 64.

Ada improved to 9-18 with the victory.

Ada spikers downed by defending champ Lancers

Visiting Ada was swept by two-time defending league champion Lincolnview in the Northwest Conference volleyball opener Tuesday evening, September 14.

The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 1-8 overall and 0-1 in the NWC with defeat.

The Lady Lancers improved to 7-1 and 1-0 in league play with the 25-8, 25-7, 25-6 win. 

It was Lincolnview's 17th consecutive victory in conference play. The Lancer spikers have posted an 8-0 record in NWC play over each of the past two seasons.

Bulldog junior Courtney Sumner came up with four digs, two kills and one block to pace Ada.

Sophomore setter Autumn Andreasen passed out four assists and came up with five digs.
