Ada schools closed Sept. 3-4

Ada schools will not be in session on Monday or Tuesday, Sept. 3-4. Monday is Labor Day. On Tuesday the school is closed for the Hardin County Fair in Kenton.

 

First book club meeting Sept. 14

Ada students in grades 7-12 interested in Book Club this year should see Mrs. Smith in the Media Center.

She said that if you’ve already read your book for September’s meeting, please return it to because there is a waiting list for this month’s title.

The first meeting of the school year will take place on Friday, Sept. 14 and as always, breakfast will be served.

Winifred Staley was a member of County Line Church of the Brethren

 

Winifred C. Staley, 91, of Bluffton, died at 11:22 a.m. Aug. 26, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born May 3, 1921 in Bath Township, Allen County to Charles L. and Mollie Johnson Mason. 

On July 3, 1941 she married Russell D. Staley and he survives. Mrs. Staley was a homemaker. Winifred and Russell celebrated their 71st anniversary with their annual family picnic and softball game. She attended County Line Church of the Brethren, Harrod, was a member of the Lafayette Eastern Star and served on the Republican Central Committee more than 50 years. She was a 1939 graduate of Lafayette-Jackson High School.
