Freshman Keegan Ross named OAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

Ohio Northern Freshman Keegan Ross has been named the OAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 27- Sep. 2.

Ross was named Tournament MVP of the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament as the No. 12-ranked Ohio Northern men's soccer team defeated Centre (Ky.) by a 4-1 score Sunday afternoon in the championship game at Penn State-Behrend.

Ross scored two goals on Sunday and one in the 4-0 season-opening victory over Geneseo State (N.Y.) on Saturday to give him three for the tournament. He also registered an assist and finished with seven points.

Senior Kelsie Zumberger named OAC Volleyball Player of the Week

Ohio Northern senior Kelsie Zumberger has been named the OAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 27- Sep. 2.

Zumberger was named Tournament MVP as the Ohio Northern volleyball team won the ONU Invitational title with a 4-0 record Friday and Saturday at the ONU Sports Center.

She had a phenomenal weekend, posting 159 assists and 37 digs in the four matches.

The Polar Bears (4-0) will be in action again on Wednesday when they travel to face off against Bluffton at 7 pm.

It's county fair week!

Ada Kiwanis hears update on Saturday Morning Art Enrichment program

Harold Friesner called the 43th meeting (Aug. 28th) of the 2011–2012 Kiwanis Year to order at 12:00 noon.

Jon Umphress offered the Invocation by Jon Umphress.

The following guests were introduced; Dr. Linda Lehman, Deb Gallagher, Alexis Hinton, Kayla Reiff and Dani Henderson, faculty and students from the Getty College of Liberal Arts education department.

The wedding anniversaries of Mark and Julie Shull (August 29, 1960 and Dustin and Jennifer Brooks (August 30, 2005) were noted.

-Treasurer Bryan Marshall shared an updated financial report. 

Ada band at the Fair Sept. 4; lots more music activities this fall

"And now, presenting the Ada High School marching band..."

Lots of music events are on the fall calendar for the Ada Music Boosters. The AHS marching band will perform at the Hardin County Fair grandstand at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4.

The band will also march in the Sept. 15 Harvest and Herb Festival parade, in addition to its Friday night football game performances. On Oct. 5, the band marches in the high school homecoming parade. On Oct. 6, the band marches in Ohio Northern University's homecomign parade.

Colleges and universities scheduling visits to Ada HS

Although the 2012-13 school year is not yet one month old, area colleges and universities are setting dates with the Ada High School guidance office to meet with interested students.

So far in September, seven schools are scheduled to make visits at Ada High School. They are:

Sept. 11 - Indiana Tech

Sept. 18 - University of Cincinnati 
Ashland University
Bluffton University

Sept. 19 - Manchester College (Indiana)

Sept. 20 - Urbana University

Sept. 26 - Ohio University
