100 years together!

It's sooner than you think! Ada celebrates two centennial events in August. The Farmers and Merchants Picnic and Lincoln Highway are both 100 years old. Both are celebrated on the same weekend, Aug. 8-9-10.

Ohio Northern University honors Distinguished Alumni

Ohio Northern University’s Alumni Association presented Distinguished Alumni Awards during a banquet on June 1.

The awards, recognizing outstanding service and loyalty, were presented to George Atkinson, Wesley Clarke, Marjorie (Stedke) Hollinger and Ann Donnelly Hamilton. The banquet was part of Northern’s 2013 Alumni Weekend, held May 31 to June 2.

Village offers water customers several payment options

Water Bill Payment Options

In order to provide customers with the tools they need, the Village of Ada offers a number of water bill payment options. Bills are printed on a monthly basis, usually around the 25th of each month, and payments are due on the 10th of each month.

Many customers stop in the Village office to pay their bills. Payments can be made in the office during regular office hours, and accepted payment methods are check, cash, money order, and Visa, MasterCard and Discover debit/credit cards.

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream tonight at ReStore!

ReStore Community Center's annual ice cream social is from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, at the Center, 210 N. Main St., Ada.

The cost of the meal is $6 for adults and $4 for youth 10 and under. The menu includes shredded chicken or barbecued beef sandwiches. Side dishes includes chips, beverage and brownies.

You may make your own sundae, and it features Diestch's Ice Cream.

The event is sponsored by United Methodist Women, Ada First United Methodist Church.

Stock up on locally grown and created items at Thursday's farmers' market

Ada's farmers' market is thriving at its new location according to Deb Curlis of Community Health Professionals, home to the weekly summer market.

The market is open in the parking area of CHP, 1200 S. Main St., Ada, each Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. now through Sept. 26.
