Monday night in downtown Ada: Halloween parade, soup-off, pumpkin hunt

The Ada Kiwanis Halloween parade is Monday. And there's lots more Halloween-related events downtown. Here's what's happening, when: 

Parade registration takes place behind the Municipal Building on Buckeye Street. Registration begins at 5:15 p.m. and the parade at 6 p.m.

Costume categories are:
• Prettiest
• Scariest
• Most original

Costume judging by age groups follow:
• Preschool and kindergarten
• First and second grades
• Third and fourth grades
• Fifth and sixth grades
• Groups – any age and pets
• Adults (most original only)
• Ada band

Seth Burkholder wins Icon football contest Week 9

The winner of Week 9 of the Icon Football Contest is Seth Burkholder. Seth and Nancy Armour correctly picked 13 games this week.  Neither picked the correct point spread in either tie-breaker (though Seth was closest) and Seth submit his entry first. 

Wow! What a finish! How about those 'Dogs? NWC co-champs

The Ada Bulldogs rolled into Stadium Park Friday night and laid claim to a share of the Northwest Conference title by defeating the previously unbeaten Delphos Jefferson Wildcats 25-20. The 'Dogs took the lead with only 45 ticks left on the clock, then survived a furious Wildcat rally to preserve the win. The victory lifts Ada's record to 7-2 overall and 6-1 in the Northwest Conference.

ONU finishes second at LTU Innovation Encounter

The Ohio Northern University Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) team captured second place at the fourth annual Innovation Encounter competition at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Mich., on Oct. 18-19.

 ONU finished second among seven other schools at the event. In addition to ONU, the schools that competed were Lawrence Tech, Gonzaga University, Widener University, St. Louis University, Villanova University, Kettering University, and the University of Evansville.
