Gary Caudill was retired from Arvin Meritor of Kenton

Gary Lee Caudill, 60, died on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 5:11 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.


He was born on November 24, 1953 in Lima, Ohio to Frank and Waneta R. (Mayer)Caudill. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Harrod. He first married Sherri Lee Scott and she preceded him in death on October 18, 1975. On April 22, 1988 he married Melody S. Garl and she survives in Harrod.


Gary retired from Arvin Meritor of Kenton after working 30 years as a machinist and he was a farmer. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served from November 1972 through December 1974. He attended the Ark of the Covenant Baptist Church of Lima.

You just graduated from Ada High School this May and you’re headed to Ohio State Lima in the fall to major in pre-health. Tell us more about that.
I chose OSU because with the amount of times that I have had the opportunity to visit Lima’s campus, I have been able to see many of the amazing things I could do with the medical program. I plan on living at home for two years and then I will be moving to main campus to finish my program.

Ada swim team finished third in WOAL championships

Don't mess with the Ada swim team. They finished the 2014 swim season with an impressive third place in the eight-team Western Ohio Aquatics League meet held in Kenton on Friday and Saturday.

Ahead of Ada were two very tough swim teams.

Ada First Presbyterian has changed little since constructed

Here's the second "Ada Past and Present" feature. CLICK HERE for the first installment.

Our feature is the Ada First Presbyterian Church on the corner of Main and Lincoln.

Presbyterians were among the first to settle in Ada, so it was only natural for a church to be constructed. The original Presbyterian Church was completed in 1864 and dedicated in 1867.
