Ada High School FFA members travel to national convention

The Ada FFA Chapter attended the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Ky., on Oct. 29-30.

During the two days, members visited the National Career Show, the FFA shopping area, and attended several sessions with motivational speakers. The group also toured Churchill Downs horse racing track and museum.

Over 50,000 FFA students, parents and advisor were in attendance at the this 87th annual convention. The convention theme for 2014 was “Go All Out.”

According to the unofficial results from the Hardin County Board of Elections, the Village of Ada Renewal Levy to support the Ada Municipal Pool has passed! The passage of the renewal levy will allow continued operations and maintenance at your Ada pool for the next 20 years.

David Retterer, his honor, the mayor, now adds "Distinguished Citizen" to his title

For the 49th year, Ada's town and gown sat down to a great meal, met new residents of the community and honored one person as Distinguished Citizen of the Year.

The event, Nov. 3, held in McIntosh Center, also recognized previous Distinguished Citizens of the Year. But, last night's spotlight shined on David Retterer, Ada's mayor, who received the 2014 "distinquished" honor.

In a brief acceptance speech, he gave tribute to all the Ada village employees who help to make his job easier. He also paid tribute to last year's honored citizen in attendance, 101-year-old Agnes Crates.
