Did you that Dorothy of Wizard of Oz fame visited Ada recently? Dorothy (aka Lilly Zeller, 4), and her brother, Ryker, 1 1/2, as the Lion, posed with their mom during the Kiwanis Halloween parade. Hey, Dorothy is holding Toto, and, look at those red slippers!

As the Nov. 4 general elections come nearer, Ada and Liberty Township voters have the option of viewing a sample ballot online and coming to an early decision about the fate of local issues.

In addition to local matters, voters will cast ballots on several state races.

According to the Hardin County Board of Elections, Village of Ada and Liberty Township voters will see the following on the 2014 general election ballots:

An elderly woman is said to have died in the room that became my son’s nursery. I never really experienced anything bone-chillingly creepy until after I gave birth to James.

One night however, when James was only a few months old, noise through the baby monitor roused me from sleep, which was nothing out of the ordinary. As I was crawling out of bed, though, I realized that something wasn’t quite right. It wasn’t my son’s crying that woke me up; someone was singing a lullaby.

Bluffton's Mustard Seed Cafe now open 4 nights a week; offers new menu

There are new hours and a new menu at Mustard Seed Café, 562 N. Main St., Bluffton. The cafe is now open four nights a week.

The restaurant is now open:
• Monday 11 – 3
• (Closed Tuesday)
• Wednesday & Thursday 11 – 8
• Friday & Saturday 9 – 8
• Sunday 9 – 3

New additions to the lunch menu include Chicago Style Hot Dog, Baked Tortellini, Autumn BLE (bacon, lettuce & egg) and Cobb Salad on Wedge.

In the Light Plate category, offerings include Baked Brie, Artichoke Cakes with Cajun Remoulade, Clams in White Wine and an Antipasto Plate.

Bingo set for Thursdays in November

Ada Bingo plays on Thursdays at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada. (No Bingo on Thanksgiving.)

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; Bingo begins at 6:55 p.m. Ada Bingo uses new, radio-controlled electronic machines, as well as, traditional paper packages. Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lion's Club, Ada Music Boosters and the Ada-Liberty Volunteer Fire Department.

And, there are only two Bingo Bonus Nights left!

These are held on the third Thursday of the month until the end of the calendar year -- Nov. 20 and Dec. 18.

Kiwanis members hear about need to pass park levy

The Ada Kiwanis Club met on Tuesday, Oct, 28,  at noon at McIntosh Center, O.N.U., Ada. President John Berg called the meeting to order.

Bob Szuch and Rob Brown, Vice President of Lima Kiwanis Club were welcomed as guests.

The birthdays on members Amanda Bennett (October 30th) and Mark Shull (October 31st) were noted in song.
