Ada's Community Health Professionals celebrate National Home Care and Hospice Month

November is National Hospice and Home Care Month, but most of us would never know it.

Home care and hospice services continue to be shrouded in mystery and are frequently misunderstood, despite it touching hundreds of area families, and despite the many volunteers who devote hours of their precious time to it.

Alphabet soup

Q-w-e-r-t. A student at Ready, Set, Grow Preschool, Ada, learns the alphabet on an very ancient device called a typewriter.

Ada takes second place in NWC Scholastic Bowl

Crestview won the Northwest Conference Scholastic Bowl competition with a perfect 6-0 record in matches held at Columbus Grove High School on November 1. Crestview's win is the fourth consecutive NWC Scholastic Bowl championship.

Bluffton and Ada tied for 2nd with 4-2 records in the competition followed by Allen East, Delphos Jefferson, Spencerville and Columbus Grove.  Lincolnview and Paulding did not have teams entered in the competition.

Ada Scouts collect food Saturday morning

Ada Boy Scout Troop 124 and Cub Scout Troop 124 will collect food and paper items for the Ada Food Pantry Saturday, Nov. 8, from  9 a.m. and noon. 

According to the Scouts: "Please leave items in a bag or box with the yellow “Scouting for Food” tag attached to it on your front step by 9 a.m. on Saturday and Scout will be in your neighborhood to pick them up. 

"If you did not receive a yellow tag at your home please place items with a note attached to it for pick up. 

"If your items are not picked up by noon call Tom Lehman at 419-634-1466 and leave a message and we will pick it up as soon as possible."
